How do I get my IELTS test results?

Results are issued by Test Centres, usually 13 days after the IELTS on paper test and 3-5 days for IELTS on computer test. Once all four sections have been reviewed, you will receive access to an IELTS Test Report Form which shows the individual scores you have received in each of the four parts of the test, as well as your overall band score.

The individual scores for Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking are all equally weighted and are rated from 0-9, with increments of 0.5. The overall band score is calculated by taking the mean result for all four parts of the test.

a) Test taken on or before March 31, 2024

The Candidate will receive only 1 copy of the results form (“IELTS Test Report Form”). Candidates may request up to two additional TRFs under conditions such as damage or loss. Submissions for additional TRFs must be made in writing to the Test Centre with a copy of the ID document used on IELTS test day. Test Centres may charge the fee normally levied for an additional TRF service for each copy.

b) Test taken on or after April 1, 2024

The Candidate will be able to access a downloadable and printable version of the electronic Test Report Form from the online booking platform used to register for the test in case the test was taken in one of the listed countries here. Where the electronic copy of the Test Report Form is available, the IELTS Test Centre or IELTS Canada cannot post or otherwise provide paper Test Report Forms to candidates who take IELTS on Computer test.

Once all four sections have been reviewed, you will receive access to an IELTS Test Report Form which shows the individual scores you have received in each of the four parts of the test, as well as your overall band score. The Test Report Form can be viewed online if you took the IELTS on Computer.
